Triptwit, Who To Follow When You Travel, inns get listed and hope it sticks around!

Triptwit if it survives could be a huge bonus for lodging. That is, a huge bonus for lodging that’s active on twitter. While inactive accounts may end up with a click-though to check out their site, I tend to think that active accounts will result in more interest from the potential browser and possibly be a future guest.

TripTwit helps travelers discover relevant, local Twitter accounts that can make their trip easier, cheaper and more enjoyable. Twitter is a great source of real-time information for travelers but the tough part is finding out what Twitter accounts you should be following for a place you’ve never been.” From Tnooz’s write-up.

Even more relevant then location based apps, this application would give the ability of a roaming traveler to find your inn or B&B, look at specials you might be promoting in recent/real time and make a reservation.

I for one hope this application sticks around as I can forsee many uses for it for travelers looking for dining options and local things to do as well, and if an geographic area has a core of businesses tweeting it looks to draw travelers to the area.

Don’t forget to add yourself to the directory. http://www.triptwit.com/
